  Choose Alpha Chi!

Alpha Chi Omega is a national women's fraternity that values academic interest, character, financial responsibility, leadership ability, and personal development. Founded in 1885 at DePauw University in Green Castle, Indiana, Alpha Chi Omega opened it's eleventh chapter at Syracuse University in 1906. We are the Lambda Chapter of Alpha Chi Omega at Syracuse University.

  We are Alpha Chi!

Located at 705 Walnut Avenue in Syracuse, New York, Alpha Chi Omega is just .5 miles from campus overlooking Walnut Park. The house has three stories, and houses over 40 women. Additionally, the Lambda Chapter house is an important part of Syracuse history, and is listed on the National Historic Registry.

We are the Ladies of Lambda!

The main goal of Alpha Chi Omega is to promote lifelong committment and friendship formed around the bond of sisterhood. Some of our most exciting times are centered around philanthropies for other houses, and our own national philanthropy, domestic violence awareness. We also engage in community service activities on a regular basis which connect Lambda women to both the Syracuse University campus and the greater Syracuse community.

  We are philanthropic!

Along with our national philanthropy, domestic violence awareness, we are extremely fortunate to have Vera House, which we support locally. Our support is both financial, and awareness focused. Our chapter raises money to support Vera House by hosting philanthropy events. For over 20 years, Lambda Chapter has organized Frisbee Fling, a traditional ultimate frisbee tournament that involves all of greek life and other student organizations. We have also sponsored other events to raise domestic violence awareness on campus in an entertaining and informative way. Additionally, we host and participate in several smaller philanthropic events throughout the year.

  We are Alpha Chi!

Lambda Chapter participates in Syracuse University's deferred recruitment. The Panhellenic Council of Syracuse University exists to promote interfraternal relations among the twelve National Panhellenic Conference affiliated sororites on campus, as well as relations with all other Greek councils. Panhel coordinates the spring recruitment process, which occurs over a two week period, and consists of four rounds of events at each of the campus sororities. The recruitment process allows potential new members to meet the sisters and learn more about Alpha Chi Omega. We look forward to welcoming our potential new members and getting to know new sisters in Alpha Chi!
